It’s Mother’s Day! The day we honor the many contributions of motherhood to our lives. In thinking over my life, my mother along with so many other mothers, have “Mom-isms” that stick with us, yet, at the time made little sense: “Wear clean underwear in case you get into an accident.” “Sit up straight.” “Don’t cross your eyes or your freeze that way.” What is it that is behind these popular, yet, unusual statements? Could it be a loving desire for us to develop character? With God it is no different. God realizes it is difficult in the world and we need to have Godly character to make it. In this sermon Pastor Jack focuses on Godly character.
