“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace…”
– 1 Peter 4:10
The Bible says more about giving than Heaven, Prayer or even Faith. Because of your financial support and generosity, you have planted the seeds that will enable Haven to grow and serve in our community, and provide a church home for you and others. Thank you for answering the call to contribute to God’s work.
How your talents can make a difference
There is nothing more valuable to us than your prayers for Haven Community Church. Please ask God to lead us in taking HIS ministry where he would have it go. If you are looking for Prayers for yourself, your family, or someone you know, please let us know.
These are the four principles of biblical stewardship.
1. The principle of ownership.
In the beginning God created everything and put Adam in the Garden to work and take care of it. Man was created to work and that work is the stewardship of all of the creation that God has given him. This is the fundamental principle of biblical stewardship. God owns everything, we are simply managers acting on his behalf.
2. The principle of responsibility.
Although God gives us “all things richly to enjoy,” nothing is ours. Nothing really belongs to us. God owns everything; we’re responsible for how we treat it and what we do with it. Owners have rights; stewards have responsibilities.
3. The principle of accountability.
Like the servants in the Parable of the Talents, we will be called to give an account of how we have administered everything we have been given, including our time, money, abilities, information, wisdom, relationships, and authority.
4. The principle of reward.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
One of the most effective communication methods is word of mouth, and some of the most meaningful opportunities to share Christ can come from these. If you see a need that our efforts in Haven could fill, please let us know.
