Services on Luke (Page 3)
We hope that the worship service tonight has helped you know & grow closer to the Lord. On behalf of the Haven Community Church Family, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and pray that God will bless you with a very Happy New Year!
Thanksgiving for many is one of the best holidays. Just think about it, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. It is so awesome!!! Now when we look at our lives, events high and low always seem to be surrounded by food. In this week’s sermon, we will look at how the idea of “food reflects a God’s grace.”
We may doing well with God…but other people, that another story! Have you ever felt this way? You’ve sought out God and discover that people have hurt or offended you. What do you do? Join us this week where the question we tackle is What Do I Do When I’ve Been Really Hurt? There are right answers to this and we will look to God’s Word and discover what we should do and say in these moments.
In the sermon series, You Want to Know…, we will look at some of the most popular questions that people have about God and life.
In week 5 of the Radical message series, we will look at what it means to radically change the way we we look at the way we can radically give and be more generous.
This week what does it mean for the Christian to truly experience sacrifice? We have spins in our culture when we say we are sacrificing but let us learn and embrace Radical Sacrifice to truly experience Radical Grace.
What would happen if the church intentionally committed to the purposes of God to find true life and satisfaction with a church that is RADICAL.
So much of our daily lives seem so mundane, boring and just existing like a log in the rapids — waiting to get caught in the rocks, rapids or next waterfall — being driven along by the moving tides. When Jesus spoke of the life he desired to bring to us, it was one of passion not one of meager existing. If you had one month to live, would you want to just coast down the rapids or would you want to see & experience every moment to the fullest. Why wait until we are facing death, we should be ready to learn this week how we are to Live Passionately.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” – Reinhold Niebuhr
Scripture(s): Isaiah 11:2-5; Luke 2:1-7 (NIV) It’s that time of year when we celebrate the Lord’s birth with help from many of our Sunday School kids. They always do a fantastic job & really help us connect to the real reason we celebrate. Join us this year for, The Road to Christmas.
As we wind down this year with our last message series of the year, we will discover how there is a ton more than merely surviving Christmas.
This week we will take a look at how this world is filled with issues, struggles and problems and how many times we just want to “cover up” but in Week #2 – we will look at God’s way is not to cover it but to confess it.
