Stephen Ministers are laypeople—Christian men and women—trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment.

The Stephen Ministry Leader is responsible for the training, development, effectiveness of our Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who provide one-to-one caring ministry to people experiencing grief, divorce, loneliness, job loss, hospitalization, and many other life difficulties. Once trained, you are equipped to do an excellent job as a Stephen Minister, as well as, to improve the quality of all your own relationships.

The Caring Ministry is comprised of four areas serving the members of Haven Community Church. The various ministries range from providing cards and food to providing one-on-one Stephen Ministers who are prayerfully matched with people who are going through a stressful time or life difficulty. Donna has worked for the State of Delaware at Delaware Tech Community College for the past 21 years. She is the Fiscal Services Manager overseeing Stanton and Wilmington campuses budgets. She is part of their Middle States team. She was born in Texas and graduated from Lee College with her associates degree in Business and Accounting. She is married to Bill for 38 years. They have two children Travis and Heather and three grandchildren. They moved to Delaware in 1986…
