Service Information
In three years, Jesus accomplished so much in such a short time; yet, he spent so much of it in prayer. Could it be that Jesus thinks about prayer differently than we do? Could it be that he places a higher priority in prayer than we do? The Disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray.
For many, it’s hard to pray. It’s not easy. Sometimes you may feel foolish — there you are hands folded, eyes closed, even on your knees, and who are you even talking to? We don’t really know what we should pray for. We don’t know how to pray. We need Jesus Christ to teach us about prayer. The Lord invites us to pray . . . and even tells us how to do it!
The Lord’s Prayer is Jesus’ way of helping us with an intimate pattern of prayer for a lifetime in relationship with God and it was never meant to be a “special recited prayer.” In the message series, Living on the Prayer, we will journey through the Lord’s Prayer along with church-wide small groups (the Prayer Course) we will learn to grow and deepen in our prayer lives.
