This Sunday is one of the biggest days in sports—the day of the Big Game! While many of us are excited about the football action, there’s something else that grabs our attention just as much, if not more: the commercials. These brief but impactful advertisements have become a huge part of our Big Game experience. From Coca-Cola’s iconic Mean Joe Greene throwing his jersey to a kid, to Budweiser’s unforgettable Bud Bowl, the hilarious Wazzupp, the clever E-trade baby, and the ever-entertaining Doritos and Snickers ads, these commercials have left a lasting imprint on our culture and Monday morning water cooler talk.
But did you know that Jesus also had His own version of commercials? He used short, powerful stories called parables to convey deep and meaningful truths about the Kingdom of God. Just like those blockbuster commercials, Jesus’ parables were designed to capture attention, provoke thought, and leave a lasting impact on the listeners. In this week’s message, “Commercial Break XXV,” we’ll take a look at five memorable commercials and see what powerful lessons we can learn from them. Just as these commercials have left an indelible mark on our society, Jesus’ parables have the power to transform our lives and draw us closer to God. So, let’s take a break and explore the divine wisdom hidden in these modern-day parables.  Are you ready for this spiritual commercial break?
