Your Talents

Service is a critical part of what God has called each of us to do. To assist you in applying the talents God has given you to serve, you can attend one of our Haven 101 Sessions to find out more about the foundations and history of Haven, and then you can attend one of our Haven 201 Sessions to find your most effective area to serve our church and community, and then finally attend a Haven 301 Session to learn more about how you can serve.

These are the four principles of biblical stewardship.
1. The principle of ownership.

In the beginning God created everything and put Adam in the Garden to work and take care of it. Man was created to work and that work is the stewardship of all of the creation that God has given him. This is the fundamental principle of biblical stewardship. God owns everything, we are simply managers acting on his behalf.

2. The principle of responsibility.

Although God gives us “all things richly to enjoy,” nothing is ours. Nothing really belongs to us. God owns everything; we’re responsible for how we treat it and what we do with it. Owners have rights; stewards have responsibilities.

3. The principle of accountability.

Like the servants in the Parable of the Talents, we will be called to give an account of how we have administered everything we have been given, including our time, money, abilities, information, wisdom, relationships, and authority.

4. The principle of reward.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

One of the most effective communication methods is word of mouth, and some of the most meaningful opportunities to share Christ can come from these.  If you see a need that our efforts in Community Church could fill, please let us know.
