January 17th: Sin Enters God’s World
This Morning’s Scripture:
Open your Bible to Genesis 3:1-24 and read these verses aloud.
God always loves us.
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” (Ephesians 3:18)
God, thanks for loving me—even when I choose me over you. You love me no matter what, and I love you, too. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We Can Trust Him
As I Have Loved You
It’s not too difficult to think of something you’ve done wrong. What words do you think God would use to describe how he felt about you the moment you made a bad choice?
Spoiler alert: The right answer is not shame or disappointment. God always loves you no matter what. Although their sin separated Adam and Eve from God, God still loved them. They were still his image bearers, and God would send Jesus to get rid of sin and shame for good.
As a child, you are probably good at showing God’s unending love. When feelings get hurt, you are quick to forgive and are ready to play or snuggle again. Hold on to that kind of love as you share God’s amazing love with your young friends.
