The pastor is the spiritual leader of the church, providing oversight to the church, teaching the Word of God, pray for its members, and ensure church discipline in accordance with God’s teachings.
The purpose of the Praise team is to simply lead the congregation in song and praises to God. Our focus is to lead without distraction or draw attention away from Him.
Michael Brandon is the Executive Director of The Paris Foundation, an organization that seeks to demonstrate Christ’s unconditional love to those in the Greater Elkton area, who are in need of material, emotional, and spiritual support. Previously, Mike has served as a police officer and a pastor. He and his family live in the Elkton area.
Paul Heath is a a director in the firm of Richards, Layton and Finger in the Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Department, practices in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency and creditor’s rights, focusing primarily on the representation of debtors, secured creditors, purchasers, committees and other parties in interest in chapter 11 cases. Stephen Ministers are laypeople—Christian men and women—trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment. Youth Group Leader(s) in Haven seeks to provide opportunities and an environment for all youth to know Christ, to grow in their relationship to Him, to serve God in their homes, schools and communities and to become powerful witnesses in the world.
The Church Secretary is a senior position in Haven Community Church, similar to the corporate secretary in publicly listed companies. The company secretary is responsible for the efficient administration of a church, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and for ensuring that decisions of the Haven Leadership Team are implemented. Our Prayer Ministry exists to present the praises and petitions of our church and community before the Lord. We invite you to pray with us and to receive prayer. The Caring Ministry is comprised of four areas serving the members of Haven Community Church. The various ministries range from providing cards and food to providing one-on-one Stephen Ministers who are prayerfully matched with people who are going through a stressful time or life difficulty. All are underpinned by and thru the Prayer Ministry.
The purpose of the Facilities Trustees is to ensure effective management, security, and procurement of Haven’s physical assets & facilities.
The purpose of the Finance Ministry is to manage the ﬁnances of the church, including managing the collection of all forms of income and ensuring the payment of all expenses and liabilities.
The Connection Ministry’s purpose is to connect the people of Haven Community Church to the work and ministry of the church through membership and utilizing personal & spiritual gifts. Haven’s Helping Hands is the Missions arm of the church with a purpose of providing physical, financial and emotional support to our community and its people who are in need.
The lay leader is a member of the laity in any congregation who has been chosen as a leader. Since lay leadership is not an ordained clerical office, the lay leader’s responsibilities vary according to the particular tradition to which he or she belongs.
